POLICE RAID 🚨 SAVE A PAW OWNER OBI AND FIND 37 dead dogs and rescue 20 live dogs

"If I was so interested in money and disappearing dogs, I would have taken them, kept the money and made them vanish" - backyard breeder turned backyard dog 'rescuer' Oaveed Rahman, Save a Paw UK, Billericay.

'Pop-up' rescue Save a Paw UK (SAP), based in Crays Hill, Billericay, Essex, was founded in August 2024 by 25-year-old married father-of-two Oaveed Rahman aka Naveed Rahman or Obi Khan, previously of Cecil Road, Walthamstow. Before starting SAP, former car salesman Rahman ran a backyard dog breeding operation called Bad Boyz Kennels, specialising in breeds such as "pit bulls" (banned in the UK since 1991), Rottweilers and Presa Canarios. One Reddit user wrote that Rahman "is known to the RSPCA from his time living in Walthamstow .. [he] and his partner Greta are vile, breeding and selling dogs". Rahman denies ever being a breeder, but this is a man that would struggle to lie straight in bed.

Initially seen as a godsend by many due to his seeming willingness to take on troubled, tough-to-rehome dogs such as large/bully breeds, traumatised abuse cases and animals with behavioural or medical challenges, Rahman has since shown himself to be a somewhat sinister character whose motives in starting a dog rescue have been called into question.

The main concern is that around four dozen dogs have effectively vanished without trace since being surrendered to SAP with Rahman point-blank refusing to provide former owners/fosters with the updates he had promised them. Miracle worker Rahman claims that all of the 'missing' dogs - many of whom had significant behavioural issues - are in new homes but few if any have ever seen a vet, their microchips remain unscanned and the registration names are unchanged.

When pushed for answers, Rahman becomes defensive and aggressive, telling one woman: "I'm coming straight for your throat".

His normal course of action, though, is to simply block former owners - most already riddled with guilt - leaving them to agonise over the fate of their pets.

Many are so worried they have asked Rahman merely to provide evidence that their dogs are still alive, but he treats such requests with sneering disdain.

Speaking about her own dealings with Rahman, one woman said he was "unprofessional, hostile, disrespectful, dishonest and condescending with a total lack of empathy towards people` who felt they had found a lifeline for their pet. Enjoying people's upset and thriving on it". Another described him as a "slippery snake" and "conman".

Rahman charges hundreds of pounds for surrendered dogs and there are concerns that he is pocketing the cash and killing the animals. One FB commenter wrote: "A common practice with these backyard rescuers: they take the animals, fleece the public via Go Fund |Me and donations, but the animals are already dead. They're put to sleep almost straightaway. People will do anything for money."

Apparently Rahman is often seen lurking around ponds at night-time and tells people that he's scoping other people's land for kennels (allegedly!).

Some have suggested that Rahman could be working in cahoots with the Crays Hill travelling community to move dogs around the country to be used as bait dogs by dog-fighting rings. Rahman denies this and has offered a "£10,000 cash reward" if anyone can prove he is involved in dog-fighting or has links to travellers (this is the same man that launched a £20k Go Fund Me appeal for as yet non-existent kennels a few months back so it's somewhat suspicious that he's apparently awash with cash).

A Facebook page called Is Save a Paw a Rogue rescue was set up in March for news and information sharing and is extremely active, so please give it a follow.
